The Rajya Sabha member Sachin Tendulkar has recently donated his entire salary and allowances to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. Over the last six years, Tendulkar has received nearly Ninety lakhs pay and other monthly allowances. It has confirmed that the Prime Minister’s Office has issued a confirmation of receipt of  Salary from Sachin Tendulkar. Prime Minister has expressed his gratefulness to Sachin Tendulkar that the financial assistance will be utilised to help those in distress. However, Sachin Tendulkar and actress Rekha were publicly criticized for not having participated in Rajya Sabha proceedings for so many years.

Sachin Tendulkar also effectively utilised the MP’s local area development fund to help people. Sachin Tendulkar has announced that he has approved 185 projects at a cost of Rs 7.4 crore across the country in a statement issued by Tendulkar’s office. Of these, Rs 30 lakhs has been used for education and other developmental works.

As the Sachin Tendulkar donated entire Rs 90 lakh received as pay and allowances during his tenure, the Prime Minister’s Office has honoured Sachin’s decision by writing a letter to him. Earlier, MP Sachin Tendulkar had given Rupees Forty lakhs for the construction of a school building in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir from MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) fund.

Durga Mulla, the only school in the region, was built in 2007, which is an Imperial Educational Institute. In this, approximately thousand students are from class one to 10.  It also consists of 10 classrooms, four labs, administrative blocks, six toiletries and a prayer hall and the same were being constructed from Rajya Sabha member Sachin Tendulkar’s fund.

Two villages have also been adopted and developed under MP’s ideal village scheme. Sachin adopted Puttnam Raju Kandriga of Andhra Pradesh and Donja villages in Maharashtra. Sachin and actress Rekha have been criticized for not attending parliament properly during the past six years.
